Mid-State Machine Products is a leading supplier of value-added precision machining services for OEM's, specializing in components with complex and demanding engineering and/or quality requirements. Founded in 1968, Mid-State has undergone several major expansions as it has evolved to today's high precision CNC machining facility. Mid-State Machine Products has extensive experience in machining the following materials: alloy steels, aluminum, bronze and bronze alloys, cast iron inconel, stainless steel titanium and other high temperature alloys.
Through the years Mid-State has served some of the nation's largest industrial segments, including commercial printing, gas & oil, heavy equipment, medical, microwave transmissions, power generation, and a wide range of programs for the US military, to name a few.

- Metallurgical and Welding Engineer (Materials Engineer)
*Position Duties: Evaluate materials and develop machinery and weldability and processes to manufacture materials for use in products that must meet specialized design and performance specifications. Analyze product failure data. Monitor material performance and evaluate material by using nondestructive testing methods. Design and direct the welding, testing and/or control of processing procedures. Evaluate technical specifications relating to process design objectives. Conduct tests on raw materials and finished products to ensure their quality. Solve problems in a number of engineering fields. Plan and evaluate new projects, consulting with other engineers and other staff as necessary. Review product plans and make recommendations for material selection, welding and testing method based on design objectives. Design welding procedure specifications for aerospace / commercial parts. Apply knowledge of welding standards and metallurgical engineering.
Position Requirements: The position requires a Master’s degree, or a foreign equivalent degree, in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or related, plus at least 2 years of relevant experience in quality control of welding and nondestructive testing, including experience (commercial or academic) with metal processing, metrology, fusion welding of aerospace parts, and metallurgical engineering. All experience may be gained concurrently.
